Boat Information
Name: Alice Dean
Origin:  ?
Years Active:  ?

The Alice Dean was one of many riverboats owned at least partially by Thompson Dean (1814-1896), a merchant first of Aurora, Indiana and then Cincinnati and finally of New York City. According to Way's Packet Directory there were two boats named Alice Dean, the first launched in 1863 and burned that summer by Morgan's Raiders and the second launched the next year.

Both boats were probably named after Thompson Dean's daughter Alice.

Thompson, Alice and other members of the family are buried in Cincinnati's Spring Grove Cemetery.
