Photography Boats All manner of business and entertainment were carried on in the rivers back in the good ole days. Here is shown the Williams Floating Photo Gallery, anchored in the Muskingum River at the foot of Washington Street in Marietta. The picture shows that a fire is going in the studio so it must be cold weather. The studio is equipped with a skylight using cheesecloth for diffusing the light. Prints are drying along the side of the pilot house and as you can see, the operation is licensed by Washington County. The picture was taken about 1910. History does not record what became of the Williams Floating Gallery.
