Shipyards and Marine Ways The lower photo showing a ribbed skeleton of a boat on the ways was taken about 1875 and has long been in R&R's negative collection. Among the many famous boats built by the Knox Boat Yards and familiar to old timers and riverboat enthusiasts some sixty years ago were the
Lorena,
Sonoma,
Valley Gem,
Annie Laurie,
Telegraph,
Liberty,
T. D. Dale,
Valley Belle and
Lizzie Cassell. Photos of the above named boats are prized collector's items. Hand painted framed photomurals of the
Annie Laurie and
Lizzie Cassell hang in the Muskingum Valley Room of Motor Hotel Lafayette.
